Despite the loss, Schaumburg Christian still got an impressive performance from Carynton Hobson, who dropped a triple-double on 17 points, ten rebounds, and 12 steals. Hobson is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Stephanie Tenuto was another key contributor, scoring two points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Schaumburg Christian struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Woodlands Academy racked up 16 assists.
Regan Stewart continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Woodlands Academy, scoring 22 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Stewart has scored at least 25% of Woodlands Academy's points.
Schaumburg Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Woodlands Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.
After both having extra time off, Schaumburg Christian and Westlake Christian Academy will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Westlake Christian Academy is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Woodlands Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Yorkville Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 11, 2024.
