The Northside L Lions will challenge the Indianapolis Northwest W Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Northside L is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.9 points per game this season.
Last Friday, Northside L didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Anderson HomeSchool, but they still walked away with a 50-45 victory. The team ran away with 36 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the win.
Northside L found their leader in sophomore ETHAN RODECKER, who went 9 of 17 en route to 25 points along with seven boards and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which RODECKER has scored at least a third of Northside L's points. The team also got some help courtesy of ISAAC ADCOCK, who posted eight points and five rebounds.
Northside L smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 15 consecutive games.
Indianapolis Northwest W has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 52-45 defeat to HEA Firebirds HomeSchool.
Northside L will need focus on slowing down Taylor Smith, one of several Indianapolis Northwest W players who made an impact when they last played. He put up 11 points and four steals. Josh Bowers was another key player, putting up eight points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
The victory got Northside L back to even at 11-11. As for Indianapolis Northwest W, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Northside L hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 56.9 points per game. However, it's not like Indianapolis Northwest W struggles in that department as they've been averaging 59.9 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Northside L beat Indianapolis Northwest W 65-54 when the teams last played back in November of 2023. Does Northside L have another victory up their sleeve, or will Indianapolis Northwest W turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
