Kendall Baker was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Lyla Baldridge was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Bradshaw Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-11 win over Union Mine.
Harlow Ahlstrom was a standout: she fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-5. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Argonaut hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Bradshaw Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Argonaut skirted past Bradshaw Christian 7-6 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
