Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Port Barre Red Devils, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 34-16 to South Plaquemines.
Leading South Plaquemines to victory were Zae'sean Riley and Jyheim Williams. Riley rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, while Williams rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Williams' longest rush was for an incredible 78 yards.
Port Barre now has a losing record at 5-6. As for South Plaquemines, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
Port Barre does not have any more games scheduled as of now. South Plaquemines will head out on the road to face off against Many at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Many will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
