The Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils will take on the Bermudian Springs Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Greencastle-Antrim sitting on five straight wins and Bermudian Springs on three.
Greencastle-Antrim had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt James Buchanan on Wednesday. Greencastle-Antrim was the clear victor by an 18-3 margin over James Buchanan. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by ten runs or more this season.
Kiersten Swain looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one hit any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Meadow Gambacurta was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Kylie Kerns was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.
Greencastle-Antrim was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .542. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bermudian Springs). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Hanover a 17-0 shutout on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
C Kittinger was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Kittinger was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Payton Cooley and A Stover did most of the damage at the plate: Cooley went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Stover scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those RBI marked the first that Cooley brought in this season. Another player making a difference was L Shafer, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2.
Greencastle-Antrim pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Bermudian Springs, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Greencastle-Antrim hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .444. However, it's not like Bermudian Springs struggles in that department as they've averaged .316. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Greencastle-Antrim's way against Bermudian Springs when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Greencastle-Antrim made off with a 16-0 victory. Does Greencastle-Antrim have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bermudian Springs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
