Softball Recap: Lake Has No Trouble Against Otsego

While Lake put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Otsego. The Blue Streaks were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Knights. Considering the Blue Streaks have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Gianna Greathouse, who gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Otsego off the board. Greathouse has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Olivia Brown was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Mikayla Props was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

Lake is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Otsego, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-3.

Coming up, Lake will be playing in front of their home fans against Green at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Blue Streaks 3.5, the Bulldogs 1.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Otsego, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 6-4 defeat against Lake on the 28th.
