Joe Mackowiak and Jake Schneider provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Burr Oak. The connection was good for 88 yards, the longest such play in Southern Michigan (8 Man) this season.
St. Philip Catholic Central added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Michigan Lutheran, 67-14. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Fighting Tigers.
St. Patrick's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Mackowiak threw for 210 and 4 touchdowns and Schneider had 155 yards receiving. On the ground Mackowiak chipped in 111 yards.
He went 8-11 with 0 interception.
Mackowiak was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 16 carries, he ran for 111 yards as the Shamrocks beat the Bobcats. Paul Carley also contributed to the rushing game with 67 yards on the ground.
St. Patrick's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Shamrocks feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Mackowiak has thrown for 356 yards and 6 touchdowns this season, while Schneider has 7 catches for 230 yards. Mackowiak also leads the league in rushing with 508 yards.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between the Titans and Burr Oak. Michigan Lutheran enters the game ranked 19th in the state, while Terry Conklin's team ranks 23rd.
Waldron was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in the league. The Spartans vanquished Webberville 56-54 earlier in the week.
