Iola dropped down to 3-2 on Tuesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 11-1 to the Burton Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bulldogs have suffered against the Panthers since March 27, 2018.

As for Burton, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games.

For Burton's part, Tyler Witt made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Witt was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Eli Jaeger was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Logun Tosta also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

While Iola had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
