Out-of-Door Academy and Bradenton Christian are an even 4-4 against one another since August of 2014, but not for long. The Out-of-Door Academy Thunder will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bradenton Christian Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Out-of-Door Academy fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Cocoa Beach on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Minutemen 26-20. Out-of-Door Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Out-of-Door Academy's defeat came about despite a quality game from Jack Meyers, who rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown. Jack Taraska got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Bradenton Christian had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They breezed by Bishop McLaughlin Catholic at home to the tune of 44-0. The result was nothing new for Bradenton Christian, who have now won five matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.
Bradenton Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Colton Dempsey, who rushed for 99 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Caden Ott was another key contributor, throwing for 100 yards and three touchdowns.
Bradenton Christian's victory bumped their season record to 6-1 while Out-of-Door Academy's loss dropped theirs to 3-4.
