Even though the Aletheia Christian Academy Lions have not done well against the Gulf Pointe Latin Gladiators recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Aletheia Christian Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 28-26 win over Gulf Pointe Latin. Winning may never get old, but Aletheia Christian Academy sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
It was another big night for Riley Glazier, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds and six steals. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Violet Martin was another key contributor, scoring four points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Coral Hamer and Kaitlyn Lothringer certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Hamer scored four points along with 11 rebounds and eight blocks, while Lothringer scored ten points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lothringer has scored all season.
Aletheia Christian Academy pushed their record up to 9-4 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Gulf Pointe Latin, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
Aletheia Christian Academy will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lighthouse Baptist Academy at 5:30 p.m. Lighthouse Baptist Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Gulf Pointe Latin, they will head out on the road to take on Baker at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
