LaVille hasn't had much luck against Glenn recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Lancers will square off against the Falcons at 5:30 p.m. The last three games LaVille has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
LaVille might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-2 to Fairfield, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
LaVille saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Schwitz, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last matchup, Glenn made sure to put some runs up on the board against Westville on Tuesday. The Falcons were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Blackhawks. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Blackhawks recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Archer Rust made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other batting news, Mekhi Pulluaim and Gavin Bowman did most of the damage at the plate: Pulluaim went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run, while Bowman went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most RBI Pulluaim has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kaden Lang, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one double.
Glenn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Glenn's record now sits at 6-9. As for LaVille, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
LaVille might still be hurting after the 20-0 loss they got from Glenn when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Lancers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
