After flying high against TEACH last Friday, the Norfolk Christian Ambassadors came back down to earth. Norfolk Christian was dealt a 69-34 defeat at the hands of the Bulldogs on Tuesday. Norfolk Christian has struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Norfolk Christian saw an underclassman step up: Jalen Freeman scored 14 points along with five assists. Brandon Giddens was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six blocks.
Norfolk Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Norfolk Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norfolk Christian will stay at home for another game and welcome the Mighty Oaks at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st. Norfolk Collegiate will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Norfolk Academy, they will be playing at home against the Navigators at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hampton Roads Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 246th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 104th).
