Midlothian has gone a perfect 10-0 against James River Midlothian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Trojans will be playing at home against the Rapids at 5:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Midlothian's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while James River Midlothian has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.
Midlothian's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over Cosby. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Not much got past Marlee Gaskell, who gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Cosby off the board. Gaskell has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gianna Caranante was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Moussa, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, James River Midlothian made sure to put some runs up on the board against L.C. Bird on Tuesday. The Rapids put the hurt on the Skyhawks with a sharp 21-5 win. Considering the Rapids' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Sam Stallard made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Stallard was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, James River Midlothian got a massive performance out of Hailey Metacarpa, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Ryan DeVries, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
James River Midlothian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .641. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as L.C. Bird only posted an OBP of .481.
James River Midlothian's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Midlothian, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.
James River Midlothian's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Midlothian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.3 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for James River Midlothian, though, as they've been averaging only 3.7 strikeouts. Will Midlothian keep running through batters, or will the Rapids buck the trend?
