The South Central Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their 12th straight loss. They took a 51-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mapleton. The result was an unpleasant reminder to South Central of the 82-52 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
South Central lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Gunner Ray, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Ray hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Max Mccormack was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
South Central's loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Mapleton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Central will take on Crestview at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Crestview will roll in looking for their 19th straight win, something South Central surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mapleton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Western Reserve at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
