The Oberlin Tigers will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Centerville Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Oberlin will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Oberlin can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They blew past Ville Platte 51-16 at home.
Oberlin's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB 6.5 times. In that department, Kayden Dart was the leader with five sacks.
Meanwhile, Centerville earned a 36-23 victory over Covenant Christian Academy on Thursday. 36 seems to be a good number for Centerville as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Jamari Ayrow continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 162 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry, and also picking up 33 receiving yards. Ayrow was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 53 yards. Bryson Thomas was another key contributor, rushing for 74 yards and a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Oberlin to 8-2 and Centerville to 6-4.
Oberlin couldn't quite finish off Centerville when the teams last played back in December of 2020 and fell 42-40. Can Oberlin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
