Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Regis Rams walked away with it. They walked away with a 27-20 win over Heppner on Saturday. The win was just business as usual for Regis, who after ten games remain undefeated this season.
Among those leading the charge was Noah Richter, who rushed for 155 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Richter was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Bartholomew, who picked up 126 receiving yards and a touchdown.
When it comes to explaining why Heppner lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cameron Proudfoot. Despite the final result, he picked up 142 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Regis has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 10-0 record. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36 points. As for Heppner, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
Regis will square off against Weston-McEwen/Griswold at TBD on Friday. Weston-McEwen/Griswold will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. Heppner does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
