The Medina Battling Bees will head out on the road to face off against the Wadsworth Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Medina's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last nine contests.
Even though John Marshall scored an imposing 40 points on Friday, Medina still came out on top. Medina took their game at home with ease, bagging a 70-40 win over John Marshall. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Medina just coasted through the last quarter.
Danny Stoddard had a dynamite game for Medina, throwing for 308 yards and six touchdowns while completing 72% of his passes. Stoddard hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for five straight games. Dylan Whitehill did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 41 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Wadsworth put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 45-14 win over Brunswick at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-7.
Medina's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.6 points per game. As for Wadsworth, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
Medina strolled past Wadsworth in their previous matchup back in September by a score of 40-23. The rematch might be a little tougher for Medina since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
