This season hasn't been kind to The Nogales Apaches, who are still winless after their tenth matchup. They took a serious blow against Tucson High Magnet School on Friday, falling 81-0. Nogales lost against Tucson High Magnet School in their previous head to head back in September of 2014, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 23-7 score last time.
Tucson High Magnet School was led to victory by James Diaz and Prince Mugisha. Diaz rushed for 77 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, while Mugisha rushed for 164 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Mugisha is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Jamoriyeh Crump-valencia was another major influence, as he rushed for 16 yards and ran in a TD.
Another reason for the win was Tucson High Magnet School's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Leading the way was Victor Otero and his two sacks.
Nogales' loss was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-10. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 3.7 points per game. As for Tucson High Magnet School, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-5.
Nogales does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Tucson High Magnet School also has no future games currently scheduled.
