Ferndale is 2-8 against the Crusaders since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Ferndale Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the St. Bernard's Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. Ferndale will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1042nd, while the Crusaders are ranked 216th).
Last Wednesday, Ferndale had to suffer through a rough 71-41 loss at the hands of the Cubs. Ferndale has not had much luck with the Cubs recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Meanwhile, St. Bernard's put the finishing touches on their 14th blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They breezed by Hoopa Valley on the road to the tune of 74-38. Winning may never get old, but St. Bernard's sure is getting used to it with their 13th in a row.
Ferndale's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-10. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely South Fork, St. Bernard's, and Hoopa Valley. As for St. Bernard's, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season.
Ferndale was dealt a bruising 75-43 defeat at the hands of the Crusaders in their previous matchup back in January. Will Ferndale have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
