The Pacific Grove Breakers will face off against the Rancho San Juan Trailblazers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Rancho San Juan will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Pacific Grove extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Breakers never let Monte Vista Christian get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. The Breakers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by eight runs or more this season.

Not much got past Alex Giammanco, who gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Monte Vista Christian off the board. Giammanco has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Emma Von Ruden was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. Destiny Buckles was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Pacific Grove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .382 or higher in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Rancho San Juan can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They blew past Stevenson 14-4. The Trailblazers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Chelsey Misner made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Misner was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Delylah Magdaleno, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Castillo, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Pacific Grove pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Rancho San Juan, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-4.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pacific Grove hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .423. However, it's not like Rancho San Juan struggles in that department as they've averaged .548. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Pacific Grove's way against Rancho San Juan when the teams last played back in April of 2022, as Pacific Grove made off with a 9-3 win. Do the Breakers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trailblazers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
