Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Friendly). They took their contest on Thursday with ease, bagging a 73-13 win over the Potomac Wolverines. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.
Friendly was led to victory by Andrea Hardy and Jasmine Germany. Hardy dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds, while Germany went 10 for 20 on her way to 23 points along with eight assists and eight steals. Those eight assists gave Germany a new career-high. Alonah Manning was another key player, going 5 of 10 en route to 14 points.
They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Friendly was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
The victory was the third in a row for Friendly, bringing their record for this year to 8-3. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.7 points per game. As for Potomac, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Friendly will welcome Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Friendly has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Potomac, they will square off against International High School at Largo on Monday.
