Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Placer's 18th in Last 19 Outings

If River Valley wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Placer, they should've done a better job of containing Emmett Rose. The Placer Hillmen came out on top against the River Valley Falcons by a score of 64-55 on Friday thanks in part to Rose, who posted 34 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Placer's points.

River Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gurtaran Sanghu, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jai Chohan, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 12 points and eight rebounds.

Placer has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.2 points over those games. River Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season.

Placer has already played their next contest, a 74-51 win against Oakmont on the 19th. As for River Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 58-55 victory against Central Catholic on the 19th.
