The Fremont Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Omaha Central Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Fremont came into Tuesday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They pulled ahead with a 58-57 photo finish over Lincoln North Star. The win was just what Fremont needed coming off of a 74-45 loss in their prior matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fremont to victory, but perhaps none more so than Harold Kennedy, who scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kennedy has scored all season. Coriahnn Gallatin was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Meanwhile, Omaha Central faced the Dragons in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Omaha Central fell to the Dragons 64-59. Omaha Central's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Omaha Central had strong showings from Alijah Wayne, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds, and Daleron Thomas, who scored 16 points along with four steals. It was the first time this season that Wayne scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of DaShawn Prince, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Fremont's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Omaha Central, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4.
