Alex Cooper and Dezmon Jackson provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Horn. The connection was good for 83 yards, the longest such play in 5A Region II District 12 this season.
The Jaguars' Treyvon Marsh rumbled for the longest rushing play in the league this season in his game against Mesquite last week. Marsh scampered for 77 yards on the play and finished with 137 on the day as his team lost to the Skeeters.
Mesquite's dynamic duo of Cooper and Rashard Higgins proved tough for Rodney Webb's team to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Cooper threw for 436 yards and two touchdowns and Higgins had 152 yards receiving. Jackson helped Mesquite's passing attack out by catching four balls for 145 yards.
Chris Warren was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 36 carries, he ran for 268 yards as Rockwall defeated the Jaguars. Teammate Dylan Campman added to the ground attack by rushing for 78 yards.
The Skeeters' Cooper and Higgins have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 5A Region II District 12 in both passing and receiving yards. Cooper has thrown for 2071 yards this season, while Higgins has 43 catches for 810 yards. Horn's Marsh leads the league in rushing yards with 853.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Jaguars take on Longview. Horn's offense has scored 278 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Lobos have allowed only 129 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Jaguars take on Longview. Horn is in fourth place, while John King's team is in second place.
Mesquite extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Jaguars, 56-41. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
