Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pearce). They claimed a resounding 69-34 win over the Nimitz Vikings. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 49-21.
Pearce found their leader in sophomore Kyler Lambert, who rushed for 114 yards and two scores on only five carries, and also threw for 190 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 passes. Those 114 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Lambert. Colton Waddle was another key player, rushing for 67 yards.
Pearce was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 427 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jevon Woolfolk, who rushed for 153 yards and a pair of TDs, and also picked up 33 receiving yards and one score. Woolfolk was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 58 yards. Jaylin Harris also helped out as he racked up 151 rushing yards.
The victory made it two in a row for Pearce and bumps their season record up to 4-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.5 points over those games. As for Nimitz, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.
