It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Concord ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They walked away with a 72-64 win over the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans. Winning may never get old, but the Spiders sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
It was another big night for Jayden Beyan, who went 9-for-18 en route to 25 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Tyvonta Rushmeyer was another key player, going 6-for-12 on his way to 18 points and six assists.
Concord's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.7 points over those games. As for Northwest Cabarrus, their loss dropped their record down to 15-10.
Coming up, Concord will challenge Robinson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Robinson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 matches -- so hopefully Concord likes a good challenge. Northwest Cabarrus does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
