After losing to the Alvin Yellowjackets the last time they met, the Barbers Hill Eagles decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Barbers Hill blew past Alvin, posting a 69-35 win at home. Given Barbers Hill's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while Alvin is ranked 909th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Alvin still got an impressive performance from Clint Smith, who scored 9 points.
Barbers Hill has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 7-1 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Alvin, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Barbers Hill will be playing at home against Brazosport at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Alvin is on the road again on Friday and play against Galena Park at 4:30 p.m. on December 1st.
