Basketball Recap: Harrells Christian Academy Piles Up the Points Against the Epiphany School of Global Studies

Harrells Christian Academy extended their winning streak to six on Friday, bumping them up to 6-1. They breezed past The Epiphany School of Global Studies Falcons to the tune of 75-40. The matchup marked the Crusaders' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Antonio McKoy was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 34 points and 11 boards. His big performance that evening made it 27 games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. J'Kaeshi Brunson was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to 12 assists and five rebounds.

Harrells Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive contests dating back to last season.

As for The Epiphany School of Global Studies, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while Harrells Christian Academy is ranked 14th).

When it comes to explaining why The Epiphany School of Global Studies lost, don't look at Thomas Lathan. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine boards. Thanks to that strong game, Lathan now owns an excellent 41.4% three-point shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Finley Parker, who posted eight points and five assists.

Harrells Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-47 win against Northside Christian on the 6th. As for The Epiphany School of Global Studies, they have also already played their next matchup, a 77-18 loss against Wayne Country Day on the 9th.
