Corsicana dropped down to 5-4 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They had to suffer through a 48-10 loss at the hands of the Midlothian Heritage Jaguars. Having soared to a lofty 35 points in the game before, the Tigers couldn't push the score so high this time.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed six in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Ja'Quallin Walker, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Even if they lost, Corsicana's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Allen Walker II was especially locked on to Midlothian Heritage's QB and sacked him twice. Midlothian Heritage's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dax Montelongo led the charge by throwing for 136 yards and four touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also rushing for 41 yards and one score.
