Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Culver Academies Eagles, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 42-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions on Friday. Culver Academies' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.
When it comes to explaining why Culver Academies lost, one person who can't be blamed is Reid Seddelmeyer. Despite the final result, she scored nine points along with four steals. Margaret Smith was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Bremen got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Emma Kincaid out in front who scored 13 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Mikayla Shively, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Culver Academies' loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Bremen, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-11 record this season.
Culver Academies does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bremen won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Hopefully Tippecanoe Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
