The Orem Tigers waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They walked away with a 68-57 victory over Cedar Valley. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Orem's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Trey Hiatt, who scored 16 points. Chance Dastrup was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 assists.
Several Aviators players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hunter Larson, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Larson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Decker Yeager, who scored 11 points.
Orem's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. As for Cedar Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.
Orem will head out on the road to square off against Spanish Fork at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Spanish Fork is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Cedar Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Timpview at 7:00 p.m.
