Clinton's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 12-0 margin over Pearl. The Arrows haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
The team relied heavily on Makenzie Cooley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Destiny Funchess was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Callie Desmond and Macie Dever Boaz did most of the damage at the plate: Desmond went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles, while Dever Boaz scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Dever Boaz is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Hodge, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Hernando pushed their record up to 10-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Clinton, their record now sits at 6-4.
Saturday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Clinton has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .458. However, it's not like Hernando struggles in that department as they've averaged .466. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Clinton came up short against Hernando in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, falling 7-2. Can Clinton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
