Maple Grove (10-1) has a real challenge coming up -- the hardest it has met all year. It and Tioga (9-1) face off this Friday at 4:00 PM to determine whose season will come to a close. Each team will be battling to keep its win streak alive, with Maple Grove having won eight in a row and Tioga nine.
Last week, Maple Grove took on Clyde-Savannah. Maple Grove's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 30 points in the first half. That put it at a 30 - 14 advantage. The offense continued to do well in the second half, scoring 31 points. At the end of the day, Maple Grove walked away with a breezy 61 - 28 win.
Meanwhile, Tioga can now show off eight landslide victories after its most recent game. It breezed past Dolgeville last week with a final score of 46 - 16. Senior Trey Floyd was especially active in the win, finding the end zone an impressive five times. Floyd has been a consistent playmaker for Tioga as this was the 3rd good game in a row from him.
Both Tioga and Maple Grove are bound to feel confident after their prior matchups, but one team's ego will take a hit. Check back on MaxPreps to find out which one when the teams meet up this week.
