Overhills is 10-0 against Harnett Central since November of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. Having just played yesterday, the Overhills Jaguars will get right back to it and host the Harnett Central Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. Overhills will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
On Tuesday, Overhills didn't have too much trouble with Triton at home as they won 59-44.
Jordan Bryant was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored eight points along with ten rebounds and two steals. Joel Lalin was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Harnett Central was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 50-49 to Pine Forest. Harnett Central has not had much luck with Pine Forest recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Harnett Central's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Rylan Beasley, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and four blocks, and Quan Dixon who scored nine points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Beasley also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb McKinnis, who scored nine points.
The victory got Overhills back to even at 6-6. As for Harnett Central, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
Overhills strolled past Harnett Central in their previous meeting back in November of 2023 by a score of 44-25. Does Overhills have another victory up their sleeve, or will Harnett Central turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
