On Friday, things could have been worse for Kongiganak, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-46 loss to Nelson Island.
Despite the loss, Kongiganak still got an impressive performance from Jarrett Brown, who scored 29 points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Daniel, who scored eight points.
Nelson Island's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zachary Angaiak led the charge by scoring 22 points. Brennan Lincoln was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Kongiganak's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Nelson Island, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
