Murphysboro's game  last Saturday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Monday. Everything went their way against the Anna-Jonesboro Wildcats as Murphysboro made off with  a  15-3 win. The  contest marked the Red Devils' most dominant  victory of the  season so far.
 Oliver Kartje made a splash no matter where he played. He  struck out seven batters over  five innings while giving up  three earned runs off   seven  hits. Kartje was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. Those  three  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high.

 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Mason Bastien, who  scored five  runs and  stole five bases while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances. Those  five  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Austin Hunter, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-3.
 Murphysboro  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .610. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Anna-Jonesboro only posted  an  OBP of  .346.
Murphysboro now  has a winning record of 4-3. As for Anna-Jonesboro,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 1-3.
 Looking ahead, Murphysboro will welcome Crystal Lake South  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Anna-Jonesboro, they will venture away from home to  face off against Goreville  at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
