Newton County took a serious blow against Neshoba Central, falling 81-21. Newton County has struggled against Neshoba Central recently, as their match on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Leading Neshoba Central to victory were Kyli Truss and Zharia Leflore. Truss scored 15 points, while Leflore scored 20 points. The matchup was Leflore's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was A'tyia Allen, who scored 9 points.
Newton County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Neshoba Central, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.
