The Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) Stallions fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They put the hurt on Everglades Prep Academy with a sharp 31-6 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms), who have now won four matchups by 25 points or more so far this season.
Humberto Serrano threw for 120 yards and two touchdowns. Matthew Diaz was his top target, picking up 40 receiving yards and no touchdowns. On the ground, Erick Garcia rushed for 50 yards.
Despite the loss, Everglades Prep Academy saw an underclassman step up: Quintero Frierson picked up 123 receiving yards and a touchdown. Frierson was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 65 yards.
Somerset Academy (Silver Palms)'s win bumped their record up to 4-4. As for Everglades Prep Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) will head out on the road to face off against Killian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Everglades Prep Academy will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Palm Glades Prep Academy at 3:30 p.m. on October 26th. Palm Glades Prep Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last eight games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
