New Castle is a perfect 4-0 against Knightstown since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Trojans will look to defend their home field against the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

New Castle took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Rushville by a score of 6-2. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won nine in a row.

New Castle saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caiden Regan, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. Jayden Sticco was another, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Knightstown strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over Winchester Community. The contest marked the Panthers' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Carter Gossett looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kelton Weaver, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Travis Louks, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Knightstown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .641. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

New Castle's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Knightstown, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.
