Tri-Valley and Maroa-Forsyth are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2017, but likely not for long. The Vikings will take on the Trojans at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Tri-Valley not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 30, 2024 (when they won 19-4). They never let Paxton-Buckley-Loda get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won three in a row.
Gretchen Wyant made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. Wyant was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

Maroa-Forsyth came out on top against Warrensburg-Latham on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run seventh inning. The Trojans were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Cardinals. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Danni Hovey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Adelyn Simmons and Taylor Crouch did most of the damage at the plate: Simmons went 2-for-5 with three runs and one double, while Crouch went 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Braylin Osborn, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI and one double.
Tri-Valley's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Maroa-Forsyth, their record now sits at 11-9.
Tri-Valley's speedy runners might be the difference in Saturday's game. The Vikings have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Maroa-Forsyth, though, as they've been averaging only 0.7 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Tri-Valley continue to outrun the ball?
Tri-Valley came up short against Maroa-Forsyth in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 11-6. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
