The Sperry Pirates will head out on the road to take on the Perkins-Tryon Demons at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Sperry will be strutting in after a victory while Perkins-Tryon will be coming in after a defeat.
Sperry had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three last Friday. They took down Cleveland 56-37.
Meanwhile, Perkins-Tryon unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 62-46 bruising from Bristow. While losing is never fun, Perkins-Tryon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 326th, while Bristow is ranked 89th).
Sperry's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Perkins-Tryon, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15.
Sperry came out on top in a nail-biter against Perkins-Tryon when the teams last played back in January, sneaking past 37-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sperry since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
