The Brighton Bulldogs will venture away from home to take on the Riverdale Ridge Ravens at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Brighton knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Riverdale Ridge likes a good challenge.
On Saturday, Brighton beat Boulder 11-6.

Blake George was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Hesston Edens was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Jackson Chabra also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Brighton lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in three consecutive matchups.
Riverdale Ridge came out on top against Boulder on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run second inning. The Ravens never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. The Ravens might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.
Riverdale Ridge saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jeter McArthur, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Another was Landon Brophy, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Riverdale Ridge has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Brighton, they pushed their record up to 12-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Brighton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. However, it's not like Riverdale Ridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .313. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Brighton couldn't quite get it done against Riverdale Ridge when the teams last played back in April as they fell 8-4. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
