Football Game Preview: Nashville Christian Eagles vs. University School of Jackson Bruins + How To Watch

After each having a week off, the Nashville Christian Eagles and the University School of Jackson Bruins will shake off the rust and duke it out at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Nashville Christian will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

Nashville Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup last Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 41-7 victory over Trinity Christian Academy. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by 28 points or more this season.

Nashville Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jared Curtis, who threw for 198 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 86 yards and one TD on only ten carries. Curtis' longest rush was for an incredible 77 yards. TJ Ward also helped with two scores in total.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Nashville Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 253 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 174 rushing yards in five consecutive games.

Nashville Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Keandre Gibson and Bryson Holt.

Meanwhile, University School of Jackson strolled past Providence Christian Academy with points to spare last Friday, taking the game 31-12. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bruins' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the LIONS are ranked 94th).

Nashville Christian's record now sits at 12-0. As for University School of Jackson, their record is now 11-1.

Nashville Christian suffered a grim 30-7 defeat to University School of Jackson when the teams last played back in August of 2020. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
