University Lab is 8-2 against St. Michael since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Cubs are taking a road trip to take on the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
St. Michael will be up against a hot University Lab squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Cubs beat Port Allen on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-2. The result was nothing new for the Cubs, who have now won seven contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

University Lab got a great performance from Grant Vollmer as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Vollmer has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Trey Sotile was incredible, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Mixon, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
University Lab always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Michael). Everything went their way against Tara on Tuesday as they made off with a 16-0 win. The Warriors not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 8, 2025 (when they won 20-0).
University Lab's record is now 13-5. As for St. Michael, their record now sits at 6-13.
University Lab was able to grind out a solid victory over St. Michael in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, winning 7-3. Will the Cubs repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
