North Delta waltzed into their game on Thursday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They blew past the Kirk Academy Raiders 12-3. The Green Wave might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by nine runs or more this season.

Owens Johnson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jett Manning, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Herron Williams was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

North Delta was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in five consecutive matchups.

North Delta's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-6. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Kirk Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Delta will venture away from home to challenge Marshall Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Green Wave's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Kirk Academy, they are taking a road trip to square off against Regents at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
