The Greeley Central Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Severance Silver Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Greeley Central not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 16, 2024 (when they won 21-1). They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Northridge. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Angel Lopez-Meza made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Lopez-Meza was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
Lopez-Meza wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Partida, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Greeley Central is 3-1 when Partida posts two or more runs, but 0-18 otherwise. Luis Perez was another, going 1-for-2 with two runs.
Greeley Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Severance came tearing into Monday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Eagles. The Silver Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.
Brady Iversen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 15 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Dom Rice, who went 2-for-3 with two runs. Another player making a difference was Garrett Mann, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Severance pushed their record up to 16-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Greeley Central, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-19.
Greeley Central suffered a grim 15-1 defeat to Severance in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
