Basketball Recap: Fordland Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

After losing to School of the Ozarks the last time they met, Fordland decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Fordland Eagles came out on top against the School of the Ozarks Patriots by a score of 66-53 on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles who have now won three matchups in a row.

Despite the loss, School of the Ozarks still got an impressive performance from Josiah Martin, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Martin a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Canaan Thomas, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.

Fordland now has a winning record of 5-4. As for School of the Ozarks, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fordland will host Walnut Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fordland knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Walnut Grove likes a good challenge. As for School of the Ozarks, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bradleyville at 7:45 p.m. on January 30th.
