Baseball Recap: Bradshaw Mountain Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

Bradshaw Mountain won against Mingus on Friday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. Bradshaw Mountain beat the Poston Butte Broncos by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 13-3. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Dylan Lockwood made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Caden Randall was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Ty Young was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Bradshaw Mountain was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in five consecutive matchups.

Bradshaw Mountain is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. Poston Butte's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-8.

Looking ahead, Bradshaw Mountain will host Prescott at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Bradshaw Mountain will need to watch out since Prescott has now posted at least ten runs in their last five games. As for Poston Butte, they will venture away from home to face off against ALA - Gilbert North at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Poston Butte is facing ALA - Gilbert North at the right time seeing as ALA - Gilbert North is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
