The West Wendover Wolverines had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Jackpot 52-5 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 26-0.
Among those leading the charge was Lesly Tovar , who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 10 rebounds. Savannah Jimenez was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 5 rebounds.
West Wendover's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Jackpot, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Wendover will take on McDermitt at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. Jackpot will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Twin Falls Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on December 18th.
