Last Thursday, St. Andrew's Episcopal faced Connelly School of the Holy Child in a battle between two of the state's top teams. St. Andrew's Episcopal pulled ahead with a 52-51 photo finish over Connelly School of the Holy Child. The win was just what St. Andrew's Episcopal needed coming off of a 71-41 loss in their prior game.
St. Andrew's Episcopal got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Anna beth Tsai-turton out in front who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tsai-turton has scored all season. Jaylah Thompson was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Flint Hill's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Maret at home and fell 58-26. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Flint Hill in their matchups with Maret: they've now lost three in a row.
St. Andrew's Episcopal has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Flint Hill, they bumped their record down to 7-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
St. Andrew's Episcopal was dealt a bruising 68-37 defeat at the hands of Flint Hill in their previous meeting back in February of 2016. Can St. Andrew's Episcopal avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
